Year 8 Challenges #1- Cave Stream

I had been waiting since last year for this challenge to happen and now that the day of going to cave stream is finally here I can’t wait to go. When we got down to the cave we got ready for the cold water that awaited as.

After getting changed, Mr. S-W told us some of the history behind crave streams like how the mayor used it as a burial place for dead people, how all the rock inside cave stream is call “ Limestone” and how limestone was created by ancient organisms and rock formed over millions of years .

Went we got to the mouth of the cave I was so surprised at how big the cave really was. As we started to walk down the first part of the cave. I put my feet into the water. That was super cold but definitely not as cold as I had imagined.

I started to walk down the cave taking videos as I go. I was about half way through the cave when we all stopped to sit on the sides of the cave. We sat there and listened to the sounds that the water made when I rushed over the rocks and trickled down stream.

Then we set off again pulling our feet though the strong water. When we got to the end, I carefully did the part where you have to climb up the rungs of a ladder, then crawl down holding a chan to give you support.

When I made I out of the cave I just wanted to go and do it all again. It was such a great experience. Definitely going again. :) :) :) :)
